A is for Apple Lesson Plan
We are learning about the Letter A this week.
Letter A is for Apples, Anacondas, Apes, and so much more!!
So for today- we decided to make it simple.
Here is what we did:
We baked an Apple Pie (See the recipe below!)
We wrote down the letter A!
We studied different varieties of Apples, and painted with them!
My daughter wrote A is for Apple, in cursive!!

Apple Pie:
For the filling:
4 Granny smith Apples, Chopped, not peeled
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp pumpkin spice
1 tbsp flour
- Chop the apples, and add all of the ingredients except the flour to a pan
- Sautee until slightly soft, then mix in the flour.
- Fill the pie shell
For the Crust:
2 Cups flour
2 sticks butter
7-8 tbsp ice cold water (Replace 1-2 tbsp with vinegar for an extra crispy crust!)
- Add the flour to a bowl
- Cut in the butter- leaving some larger chunks, but having most of it resembling pea sized pieces
- Gradually add 1-2 tbsp liquid at a time
- Form a ball
- Cut in half, and roll out each half!
Bake the pie dough covered for 30 minutes at 450, and 15 minutes uncovered. (I like to cover the edges with tin foil at all times)
