How we teach our kids to cook, starting at age 2, with a five level cooking method
Hello! If you were here, it means you’re interested in teaching your kids to cook. We started our cooking journey six years ago… I am so glad we did.
My daughter, who is now eight, can cook completely by herself… Just with supervision for things like the oven or the stove top. She graduated as a level five this year… let me break down the levels for you.
We generally start level one whenever they are ready to start helping put stuff in a bowl, which is usually age 2. My one and a half year-old thinks he’s ready to start now… So he will be starting in January.
My six-year-old is currently a level two, because we are working on reading, and to pass level two, you need to be able to read the recipe.
I wanted to talk about three reasons, the cooking at a young age is important.
