Kindergarten and 2nd Grade Homeschool Schedules for 2021/2022

You asked, and I answered! (Hopefully this is what you were looking for)
For the 2021/2022 school year, my kids will be in Kindergarten and 2nd Grade (because of their age, but if you are like me- that doesn’t really matter).
So, here are some sample schedules of what we think we will be studying this coming year. (Our school year goes from June 2021-May 2022, because we school year round. Want a post on that? Let me know!)

Kindergarten
William is finishing up our Preschool program; learning his ABC’s, numbers 1-10, and some basic writing. So he will then go into:
Math:Â
The following units will be done by both kids. They are levels 1-4, which is PreK-2nd; So Will was working on Level 1 this year, and will start Levels 2 and 3 next year.

- Measurement & Data
- Shapes & Geometry
English:
He is starting our Pre-Primer Alphabet Writing program now (coming soon), and will continue to work on that- followed by:
- Nature Writing- Manuscript Level 1
- Our Reading Program
History:
Along with his sister, we will be doing American History through this Spring and Summer (2021); and the focus next year will be on His World (Maps, Towns, States, Etc) followed by US States.

- Social Studies
- US States
Science:Â
We usually study Science in the Spring and Summer while it is warm, so this year will be:
- Gardenschooling
- Botany (Coming soon)
- Natural Disasters
Possibly other things thrown in there, but that is what we have planned for now!
Those are the basics. Other things we will do are:
- Tea Time
- Book Reading with Book Guides
- Cooking practice
- Devotionals
- Learn and Play Calendars from Everyday Learn and Play
- Possibly the new Kindergarten Journal from Arrows and Applesauce
- Cultural Units from Little World Wanderers

2nd Grade
Ellie is finishing up her K-2nd grade Alphabet Writing program, as well as Math for this year, and some other writing goals. So she will then go into:
Math:Â
The following units will be done by both kids. They are levels 1-4, which is PreK-2nd; So Ellie was working on Levels 2-3 this year, and will work on Levels 3-4 next year. I will then make higher learning math for her.

She is starting our K-2nd Grade Alphabet Writing program now (coming soon) with specific practice on Capitals/Lowercase letters and Proper Nouns, and will continue to work on that- followed by:
- Nature Writing- Manuscript Levels 1 or 2; or Cursive 1 (After she solidifies when is appropriate to use capital letters)
- 1st and 2nd Grade LA: Reading and Comprehension
- Gameschool Spelling (coming soon)
History:

Was this helpful? At the end of this school year (May 2021), I will write a post with all we have accomplished this year. So many things have changed about the way we “Do school”, and I am sure they will continue to change! Especially since we will be welcoming a new school member in August 😉
